Endure

I'm not sure if I've written about this before. I tried to search but Google appears to have disabled the search function on my blog posts. So, if you've read this before, I apologize. But some things bear repeating, and I've recently been reminded of this experience myself anyway, so I thought I'd share it here. When I was in architecture school, I was frequently frustrated and disappointed by my lack of ability to do things that others in the class seemed to be able to accomplish so easily. I didn't have experience in drawing or art. I didn't have the computer rendering skills that so many others seemed to use with such great ease and skill. I despaired of ever being able to do the beautiful things that they were. One day I complained to my professor about this inequity. February in Texas

It's rainy today. Spring in Texas comes early. Like, a week after winter begins. While this is generally a good thing (I strongly dislike cold weather!) it also means rainy, wet weather, which can be depressing. I'm not one who is affected by things like this much. But I much prefer sunny weather to rain. I don't think I'm alone in that. Yet, interestingly, it is the rain and cooler weather that the plants love at this time of year. Things of moment are happening in my life. Some of which have happened at my instigation - I've got a new job, which sets in motion a whole slew of other reactionary events. I am going to be commuting quite a ways each day, which means I'll need a new car. My current car, while still in awesome shape and still very comfortable and fun to drive, is also not very efficient. It's good enough for getting me around now, and as scout master it was good to have to load up for scout camping purposes. But I only drive 10 miles most ...
